From Old Irish nem (compare Irish neamh, Manx niau), from Proto-Celtic *nemos (“heaven, sky”) (compare Welsh and Cornish nef, Breton neñv), from Proto-Indo-European *nébʰos (compare Russian не́бо (nébo)).
