Egyptian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

nfr (beautiful (one)) +‎ nfrw (beautiful ones, plural of nfr) +‎ jtn (Aten) as a series of direct genitive constructions, thus literally ‘beautiful one of the beautiful ones of Aten’, i.e. ‘most beautiful one of Aten’. The written form demonstrates honorific transposition.
