Etymology[edit]
Borrowed from Ukrainian пли́та́ (plýtá), from Old East Slavic плита, плифа, пленьфа, плинта (plita, plifa, plenĭfa, plinta), from Ancient Greek πλίνθος (plínthos).[1] First attested in the 18th century.
