Usage notes[edit]

  • When phẩy is used as a decimal point, unlike in English, a preceding không (zero) cannot be omitted.
  • For the thousands, millions, etc. places, use either the actual point (the period .) or the space instead.
  • For ease of access, the prime may be represented by the apostrophe/single quotation mark (') or the single left quotation mark () instead.
