  1. (UK, colloquial) A meal of miscellaneous snack foods served together.
    • 2017, Sarah Millican, How to be Champion:
      My granda would make everything from scratch and it was a wonderful feast of a picky tea. His potatoes deep-fried in batter were amazing.
    • 2023, Jane Dunn, Jane’s Patisserie Everyday:
      I scoff these as a mid-afternoon snack, as part of a 'picky tea' or even just because. Cheese and onion is an iconic flavour combination across the world, mainly because of crisps, but they are just so good together!
