Etymology[edit]

Possibly a reinterpretation of earlier simple psḏt (“nine, nineness, ennead”), feminine of psḏw (“nine”), when written with nine bow signs.[1]

The reinterpretation consists of psḏt +‎ pḏt (“bow”).
