From Proto-Albanian *klema/e, from *kʷl-e-mé, thematic aorist of Proto-Indo-European *kʷelh₁- (turn, become) (compare Ancient Greek ἔπλετο (épleto, (s)he became), Old Armenian եղեւ (ełew, he became), Tocharian B klutk- (turns, becomes)).
