Irish[edit]

Etymology[edit]

From Old Irish ro·icc, with final gh rather than g due to conflation with synonymous ro·saig, compounded by the fact that slender gh at the end of a word is pronounced like slender g in Munster.

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

righ (present analytic righ, past analytic ráinig, future analytic riachtfaidh, verbal noun rochtain)

  1. (archaic) to reach; to arrive at; to stretch
    Synonym: sroich
