Usage notes[edit]

Though infrequently used, său is preferred to ei or lui when the possessed object belongs to the subject of the sentence. For example:

Eu vorbesc cu prietenul lui.I am talking with his friend.
El vorbește cu prietenul său.He is talking with his (own) friend.
