Etymology[edit]
From Latin santonica (adjective) (from Santonēs (a Celtic tribe of Aquitania)), most likely originally in a phrase such as herba santonica ("herb of the Santones").

santonica (usually uncountable, plural santonicas)
- An Asian plant (Seriphidium cinum, syn. Artemisia cina), related to wormwood, which has been used since ancient times as a vermifuge due to its santonin content.
