Etymology[edit]

Reconstructed as se- +‎ meng- +‎ andika, from Javanese ngandika (ꦔꦤ꧀ꦢꦶꦏ), andika (ꦲꦤ꧀ꦢꦶꦏ, to tell, literally you), from Old Javanese andika (words, command, order, decree). Calque of Late Latin sōliloquium (literally only, sole + I speak).
