sheeter (plural sheeters)

1. An industrial machine (similar in principle to a roller-type pasta machine) that produces a sheet of dough, fondant etc. of a regular thickness.
2. (rail transport) A person who put sheets (tarpaulins) on open railway wagons to keep the loads secure and dry in transit.
   • 1947 January and February, “Wartime Traffic at Tanfield, L.N.E.R.”, in Railway Magazine, page 47:

     The Army provided a yard foreman, sheeters, loaders, and checkers to augment the railway staff of two men porters, one lad porter, and a female clerk.

3. (in combinations) Something with a certain number or type of sheets.
