side street (plural side streets)

  1. A secondary road; a road that is not intended for heavy traffic.
    Traffic was horrible on the main roads, but she knew all the back roads and side streets, and managed to get there quickly.
    The office was on a mostly residential side street. It did not look professional, and for a moment he doubted he was in the right place.
