swimline (plural swimlines)
- A cable or line that is used to connect divers so that they are spaced out within sight of each other.

- The main concern with the swimline is that without some form of control there is no clear idea of the path of the search. Thus a survey of a defined area can be a hit-or-miss operation. One solution is to lay a jackstay on the seabed with the end diver of the swimline follows.
