  1. Part of a motor vehicle that connects the transmission to the vehicle.

Usage notes[edit]

Most transmission mounts consist of a metal bracket that is bolted or welded to the vehicle chassis, and a rubber or hydraulic bushing to isolate vibrations from the rest of the vehicle.
