Borrowed from Latin trānsigō (I settle a difference or dispute, come to an understanding),[1][2][3] from trāns- +‎ agō.

  1. (transitive) to inherit (property or something else by will)
  2. to take and preserve (physical, moral qualities of ancestors)
  3. (monarchy) to take/have power (after the death of the monarch); take possession (of power, throne, etc.)
  4. to receive, preserve, develop, enrich (cultural heritage)
  5. (intransitive) to enjoy life; to spend a beautiful time (while alive)
