Cebuano[edit]

Etymology[edit]

tsinelas +‎ -ay

Pronunciation[edit]

  • Hyphenation: tsi‧ne‧la‧say

Noun[edit]

tsinelasay

  1. a children's game where two or more players race slippers or flip-flops to the finish line

Usage notes[edit]

  • Each player needs a pair of slippers; one designated as the duck and the other the shooter. Players line up the ducks a few distance from a throwing line. One by one, each player attempts to shoot the other player's ducks from the throwing line, also doubling as the finish line, pushing them further. When everyone has taken their turn shooting, in the same order, the players must now shoot their own ducks towards the finish line. The loser gets punished by getting his/her slipper-covered palm slapped, on an agreed number of times, by the finisher's shooter.
