Verb[edit]

välla (present väller, preterite vällde, supine vällt, imperative väll)

  1. (sometimes with a particle like from (forth), in (in), or ut (out)) to flow in great quantities (of liquid, gas, or figuratively of for example people); to gush, to pour, to well, to billow
    Blodet vällde ut ur drakens sår
    Blood gushed out of the dragon's wound
    Tjock rök vällde fram ur skorstenen
    Thick smoke billowed out of the chimney
    Folk vällde in i butiken
    People poured into the store
  2. (sometimes with a particle like ihop (together)) to forge weld, to fire weld
  3. to heat (metal, when forging)
