Latin[edit]

Verb[edit]

vīxērunt

  1. third-person plural perfect active indicative of vīvō

Usage notes[edit]

Used euphemistically by Cicero after the execution of the Catilinarian conspirators Lentulus, Cethegus, Statilius, Gabinius and Caeparius, i.e. "they lived" as a substitute for "they are now dead".
