Etymology[edit]

From Philippine Hokkien 我空 (óa khàng--a!, my heavens!; OMG!; wow!, expletive). Compare with Mandarin 我的天 (wǒ de tiān, my heavens!) and Mandarin 天啊 (tiān a, heavens!).
