  • The English translation of the title (elsewhere rendered as 'Usage', 'Current Modern'), is written here as found at the bibliography of 'Studies in Greek Lexicography' vol.72 (pdf.p.18 retr:2024.04.17) where the author, Charalambakis was co-editor (so, we imagine, he endorses the translation).

  • sarri.note: Presents Katharevousa and the then (1960s) Demotic which was not identical to our today's (2017) crystallized Neo-Hellenic Standard Modern Greek. Useful inflection tables (page 415) Kath/Demotic juxtaposed. Here are some notable differences with today's koine (SMG):
    • Verbs: the ε augment for past tenses (imperfect, simple Past) is now less in use in some types: e.g. λυνόμουν - (ε)λυνόμουν. Today, one would employ this ε as euphonic.
    • Subiunctivus (υποτακτική) was still used in demotic (cf. #Triantafyllidis 1941 schoolgrammar of the time) e.g. νά κάνης, νά κάνη (without the subscript iota (υπογεγραμμένη) which is used in ancient: νὰ κάνῃ) [also, βαρεία grave accent was not demanded at schools of the 1950s and 1960s.]
