Etymology[edit]

Likely originally a borrowing from the Hwanghae dialect. Compare Hwanghae Yeongpyeong island dialectal 외잘머니 (oejalmeoni).

Usage notes[edit]

Only appears in the dialects of islands off the coast of northern Gyeonggi and bordering Hwanghae Province, such as Ganghwa and Gyodong island.
