Those seem like mentions rather than uses. It's hard to find this term with the scientific name because it's usually treated as an alternative name. I've added two uses. The quote from 2011 is referring to the red panda because 1) it lists it as a animal separate from the fox and 2) it seems to match the descriptions in Andrews' book Camps and Trails in China, which includes the scientific name.
