Etymology[edit]

From Proto-Batak *kələŋ.

Verb[edit]

holong

  1. to love
    Holong do rohangku di ho.
    I love you.

Usage notes[edit]

Like most Toba Batak verbs describing emotions, it takes the noun roha 'mind; feeling; disposition' as subject which itself is modified by the experiencer of the emotion as a possessor (e.g. rohangku 'my mind' in the usage example).
