From Proto-Hmong *ɢʉᴬ (snail), likely borrowed from Middle Chinese (MC kwea|kwae, “id”). Compare also Proto-Mien *kʷlejᴬ (id), *klu̯eiᴬ/ᴮ (id).[1]
