Etymology[edit]
From Javanese ꦧꦼꦤ꧀ꦢꦫ (bendara), from Prakrit bhaṁḍāra, bhaṁḍāāra, bhaṁḍāgāra, from Sanskrit भाण्डागार (bhāṇḍāgāra, “treasury”). Doublet of bendahara, bendahari, bendara, and bendari.
